Happy New Year Vegie Friends!!

May 2014 be the healthiest happiest year of your life.

Congratulations to those who made the choice to join me in my January Raw Challenge. It is going to be tough for some and easy for others.

Firstly you need to decide what your purpose is for going raw. Is it to have more energy, lose weight, detoxify your body or break an addiction to some foods you may have.

When you have a clear goal of what you want to achieve it makes the journey so much easier and enjoyable.

What is your daily goal?

Weekly goal?

Monthly goal?

Once you have written these out you have more motivation to stick to the challenge and achieve your goals and aspirations. Here are some benefits of going raw that will help motivate you.

What are the benefits of going raw?

One of the most noticeable benefits of eating raw is the amount of energy you gain. It gives your body an incredible rest from digestion. Eating all raw is easier to break down in the body therefore you will have more energy for repair and rejuvenation.

Lose weight

Losing weight is effortless on a raw food diet because you are eating as nature intended.  You never see a wild animal overweight or diseased. That is because they only eat what they are designed to. If you are looking to  lose weight shift your focus to healthy living as it will speed up your transition to achieve your desired body.  As you start to feel great, gain energy and look good this will encourage you to make changes for life. Also with the combination of daily exercise your results will be outstanding.

Alkalise your Life

The most highly alkaline foods on the planet are raw living plant foods. Eating a diet of 80% alkaline foods will limit your risk of getting disease and cancer considerably. Eating raw makes it super easy to eat alkaline as almost everything raw is alkaline. Remember to eat lots of greens.

Overall Aesthetics (skin, hair, eyes)

Yes going raw is anti ageing and has great affects on your skin, hair, nails and eyes.. My eyes have been changing colour the more raw I become. Your skin will clear, your nails will get stronger and your hair shinier.

Guilt Free

Going raw means everyday you eat it is guilt free. No animal died to satisfy your hunger. “If the walls of a slaughter house were made of glass no one would eat animal products anymore” You can feel good that you are saving many lives and also increasing your longevity at the same time .

Emotional Stability

When filling yourself silly with dense, cooked, and processed foods, you put your body under great digestive stress, which suppresses your emotions. When eating raw your emotions often rise up, with nothing to suppress them with any more. This can be hard for people to deal with and often leads to returning to cooked foods for emotional comfort. Emotions are natural and should not be avoided. I recommend keeping a diary and writing down what comes up. Also discussing it with a close friend or family member.

Clarity and Happiness

When becoming raw you discover a gratitude for everything in your life. Nature becomes a big part of it. This might sound crazy but I know this to be true to everyone who is raw that I have met to this day.

Good Luck!

Love VG xx
