Why Drink Smoothies?

Breakfast is generally my favourite meal of the day and it’s because I have smoothies seven mornings a week! They are not only delicious, they make you feel so great and energised for the entire day.
A few years ago when searching for ways and ideas for helping or even healing my Mum’s Crohn’s disease I came across Victoria Boutenko’s book (Green For Life) & discovered the health benefits of Smoothies… Green smoothies in particular.
Adding Green Smoothies into my diet was one of the first steps I took on my journey to exceptional health. Ever since I started adding a daily smoothie into my diet I have experienced dramatic improvements in my overall health, energy & mental clarity. It’s also been a lot of fun designing and developing new yummy recipes.
After suffering from chronic irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) I always needed to consume a lot of fiber to keep my whole digestive system in good order. Smoothies retain all the fiber of whole raw fruits and vegetables unlike juices. Eating fiber is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to prevent disease because it helps the body to eliminate waste materials & deadly toxins that build up in our system.
If you want to alkalise your diet and you don’t know where to start, I highly recommend reading Green For Life and starting your day with a delicious green smoothie.
Please don’t let the various Smoothie colours put you off! Many of my long term friends and followers’ initially found the bright, green smoothie recipe almost frightening to look at and yet now swear by them all. I know many, myself included take their vitamisers with them on holidays so that they don’t miss their daily shot of energy and natural vitamins.
Here is a selection of some of my favourite Smoothie recipes.
