There is no doubt our lives have become busier than ever! With balancing work, friends, relationships, study,  family, cooking, cleaning, shopping, paying bills, social media, eating, sleeping… Not to mention the continuous internal dialogue that goes on inside our head. There is no surprise we never seem to have any time or space to ourselves.
We live in such a negative world and Meditation is one of the best tools we have to reverse the brain’s negativity.

For those who have never meditated before it is something you have to try. Meditation helps to make you feel centered also helps ignite your natural intuition and creativity that is often left out in our busy lives.
 
Why I Meditate 

My love for meditation began when I was working at Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat in the Gold Coast Hinterland. Every evening a meditation class was held in the old church. Different teachers would take the classes each night & they would take classes of all types from many cultures and traditions. Every time we did it, it was a fantastic new experience for me.
I believe daily meditation has unlocked a great new form of wisdom within my own personality. I found meditating regularly really calmed, balanced and gave me a feeling of fulfillment that was absent in my every day life prior to practicing it on a regular basis.  For a whole host of reasons, but predominately practicing Meditation, I find my very busy life and workload a piece of cake (vegan of course). Very little worries me too much these days which is a great feeling to have.
When I returned home from Gwinganna I needed to find a way to meditate every day without an instructor running the class. I found a few great recordings, however the best thing I was recommended was, Meditations For Manifesting by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer on Audible which is an iPhone App. So if you’re keen to give Meditation a go, this App is a great way to begin.

There is so many great websites as well as  yoga & meditation studios out there that provide meditation classes.
If you add meditation in to your daily life you will experience clarity, a sense of peace and a range of health benefits. I couldn’t more highly recommend it.
My favorite Yoga studio in Melbourne is Ohana Yoga where Gena Kenny the beautiful yoga instructor intertwines meditation into all her yoga practices.
